This calculator focuses on pallet floor layout rather than carton cube. It is useful when the shipment is already palletized and you want a quick container floor-capacity estimate.
How to use this calculator
Choose the container type, enter pallet length and width and select the pallet dimension unit.
Formula and method
The tool tests straight and mixed rotated pallet rows against common nominal container internal floor dimensions and returns the best count found by that rectangular row heuristic.
Worked example
A 40-foot container may fit a different number of 120 × 100 cm pallets than 120 × 80 cm Euro-format pallets because both pallet footprint and rotation opportunities change the floor pattern.
What to check before you ship
Real counts can be lower because of door access, dunnage, load securing, damaged pallets, overhang, clearance requirements and actual equipment dimensions.
Why the result matters
Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
