Formula and method

The basic method divides package cubic volume by a carrier-defined volumetric factor. Because the factor is contractual or service-specific, the calculator makes it explicit and editable through preset choices.

Worked example

For a 40 × 30 × 30 cm box, cubic volume is 36,000 cm³. At a 6,000 divisor the volumetric weight is 6 kg; at 5,000 it becomes 7.2 kg.

What to check before you ship

Use the packed dimensions and check whether the carrier rounds each dimension, each package weight, or the final shipment weight. Those rules can change the billed amount.

Why the result matters

Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
