The pallet calculator estimates how many identical rectangular cartons can fit on a pallet within a maximum loaded height. It tests straight and mixed rotated row layouts instead of using only one orientation.
How to use this calculator
Enter pallet footprint, carton dimensions, maximum loaded height, pallet base height and carton weight. The result reports TI (cartons per layer), HI (layers) and the estimated total carton count.
Formula and method
The tool searches row combinations for the pallet footprint, then divides available stacking height by carton height. Total cartons = best cartons per layer × full layers.
Worked example
With a 120 × 100 cm pallet and 40 × 30 × 25 cm cartons, the exact result depends on the selected maximum height and pallet base height. The calculator tests both carton orientations and mixed rows before choosing the best layer count.
What to check before you ship
Real pallet design also depends on carton strength, interlocking patterns, overhang rules, pallet payload, stability, stretch wrap, crush limits and handling equipment. Use the result for layout planning, then validate the physical load.
Why the result matters
Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
