This calculator is for analysis after you already know the shipment freight total. It turns that total into cost per kilogram, pound and cubic metre.
How to use this calculator
Enter total freight cost, gross shipment kilograms and CBM. Choose the currency that matches the freight total.
Formula and method
Cost per kg equals total freight cost divided by kilograms. Cost per CBM equals total freight cost divided by shipment cubic metres. The tool also converts kilograms to pounds for cost-per-pound reporting.
Worked example
A 1,800 freight total on 3,500 kg and 18 CBM equals about 0.51 per kg and 100 per CBM in the same currency.
What to check before you ship
These figures describe the shipment economics you entered; they do not predict a carrier tariff or explain every surcharge in the original freight total.
Why the result matters
Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
