How to use this calculator

Enter one carton’s packed outside dimensions and the total number of identical cartons. If you have several carton sizes, calculate each size separately and add the CBM totals.

Formula and method

Carton CBM = length in metres × width in metres × height in metres × quantity.

Worked example

A 50 × 40 × 30 cm carton equals 0.06 m³. A shipment of 24 cartons therefore has a calculated volume of 1.44 m³.

What to check before you ship

Do not round dimensions too early. Measure bulges, protective corners and other projections when they increase the actual outside size presented for shipment.

Why the result matters

Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
