This calculator turns a W/M rate into a simple LCL cost scenario while keeping the minimum ocean charge and fixed local charges visible.
How to use this calculator
Enter shipment CBM and weight, the quoted rate per W/M, any minimum freight charge and known fixed origin or destination charges. Choose the currency used by the quote.
Formula and method
The tool calculates W/M first, multiplies it by the entered rate, applies the minimum freight charge when it is higher, then adds the fixed charges you entered.
Worked example
If a shipment rates at 8 W/M and the quoted rate is 70 per W/M, the rated ocean freight is 560 before fixed charges. A 120 minimum would not change that example because the rated amount is already higher.
What to check before you ship
Only entered components are included. CFS, documentation, security, customs, pickup, delivery, storage and destination charges vary by quote and lane.
Why the result matters
Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
W/M pricing depends on the higher weight-or-measure basis and any quote minimums. Review the LCL W/M reference and compare an FCL quote with the LCL versus FCL calculator.
