Pallet counts that fit geometrically can still fail because of weight. This calculator adds the carton load and pallet or packaging tare, then compares the gross result with the limit you enter.
How to use this calculator
Enter the number of cartons, weight per carton, pallet and packaging tare and the applicable gross-weight limit. Choose kilograms or pounds.
Formula and method
Gross pallet weight equals carton quantity multiplied by carton weight plus pallet and packaging tare. Limit utilization equals gross pallet weight divided by the entered limit.
Worked example
Forty-eight cartons at 8 kg each weigh 384 kg. With 25 kg of pallet and packaging tare, gross pallet weight is 409 kg.
What to check before you ship
Use the lowest relevant limit from the pallet rating, warehouse rack, handling equipment, vehicle, customer specification or transport operation.
Why the result matters
Accurate dimensions and weights help with quoting, space planning and avoiding preventable adjustments. Always use the packaged outside dimensions that will actually be tendered for transport, and verify any carrier-specific rules that affect billing or classification.
